Shamanic journeying

Breathwork, Cacao, and Fire Ceremony

Breathe until you’re surprised.

Your ability to shift from an ordinary state in the modern world to a non-ordinary state in the spirit world is only a breath away.

For centuries, Shamans have used fire, drumming, and breathing techniques to put themselves into a deep meditation and journey into spiritual realms. This technique is safe because you control your breath. You’re in charge of the gas pedal and the brake.

Breathwork at Katydid Lodge

Most of my breathwork events are at Katydid Lodge east of Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

If you are new to breathwork, here is a two-minute YouTube video of what to expect: https://youtu.be/hGJRL9Yloyw

- Come in and get settled on your mat.

- Enjoy a 30 minute sound bath from Cathy.

- Get a drink of water and stretch before breathwork. A short introduction and group practice of holotropic breathing. A reminder to "breathe until you're surprised."

- Lay on your mat with an eye covering.

- Receive shamanic drumming, physical assistance as needed or requested, and loud psychotropic music.

- Integrate your experience with journaling and sip hot cacao (hot chocolate with oat milk, cinnamon, and date syrup) to bring unconditional love of mother Earth into your body.

- Release old stories into the fire and sip more cacao. Share your experience in the circle and feel the sacredness of community.

Event pricing includes a follow-up Tarot session with Cathy the Forest Empress, and a group coaching call with Atlantis Wolf.

Group limited to 10 people.

Such a simple premise:

Listen to the drumming
Lay on a mat
Breathe in a little; breathe out a lot

It’s the ancient way to process events in your past and clear your mind so you can be free.
Listen to the music
Lay under your blanket
Breathe until you’re surprised.

Shamanic journeying is the path of self-discovery.

Breathwork FAQs

  • My training incorporates techniques invented by Stan Grof. You can read more about him in his book, Holotropic Breathwork: A New Approach to Self-Exploration.

My teacher studied with him for almost 20 years and was given permission to teach his techniques. It’s primarily holotropic breathing, no counting required.

If you have COPD, a-fib, or recent surgery, please contact me prior to registration.

  • Not at all. “Breathe until you’re surprised” is the approach. You will have the experience you need. Trust the process and allow the music to carry you on a journey.

  • The doors are closed when the ceremony begins. There is no opportunity for late arrivals. Please plan accordingly.

If emergencies arise, please contact me by email. I’ll hold a space at the next Katydid event for you for free.

  • Yes, but each person needs to be registered 24 hours before the event so I can make preparations.

  • I trained with Linda Star Wolf who carries the Seneca Wolf Clan teachings. Through years of study with her in North Carolina at her estate and in the temples of Teotihuacan, Mexico at The Dreaming House; I became a Master Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator.

  • No problem. Please book a call or send an email. I’m happy to answer all your questions about breathwork events.
