Shamanic Breathwork is a modality created 30 years ago by Linda Star Wolf of Venus Rising Center for Transformation. It is a ceremonial setting for self-exploration and psycho-spiritual healing using connected circular breathing, chakra-activating music, and art processing. You are welcomed into a group setting designed to hold you physically and energetically in a sacred space. No experience with breathwork or meditation required. Come as you are.
After the energy is gathered, participants are taught how to breathe in a circular, connected way and practice as a group. Intentions for the shamanic journey are set and everyone is invited to find their mat and get comfortable. The music begins and the group is led into their journey with drumming and a few words of guidance. Participants breathe as the music plays and may experience somatic and emotional assistance as intuited by the facilitator. That might look like holding a person's hand, resting a hand on a person's heart, or softly asking a participant to give their emotion a sound.
When the music is finished, people are guided back to the present moment with drumming and a few words of grounding. Each person journals or draws their experience to express their journey. This begins the processing of the journey. Group sharing follows where each person has an opportunity to speak into their experience and share their artistic expression.
The ceremony ends with the group is led in a silent prayer of gratitude for the participants and spiritual helpers who created the ceremony.

PREPARATION
The ceremony begins the moment you say yes, even if you haven't paid for your registration. Your heart knows. You'll be breathing with a bit of force to launch you into the journey. Heavy meals before the event are not recommended. Eat something light an hour or so before the event. Wear clothes that allow you to move freely on your yoga mat. You may begin on your back, stand up in the middle, and be curled into a ball at the end. Best to dress for ease of flow.

- A yoga mat (or similar)
- Water bottle
- Journal
- Blanket
- Pillow for your head or as a bolster under your knees to alleviate potential low back pain
- An eye mask or bandana to cover your eyes while you journey
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Shamanic Breathwork ceremony is a sacred container created by experienced facilitators trained to safely hold you both physically and energetically so you can access your inner realms for deep transformational work. As an active participant, you embark on a journey to meet yourself within an intimate group setting. The intentional combination of purposeful circular breathing, chakra-activating music, and art processing can help you discover the path to your own healing. Possible experiences include everything from deep serenity to euphoria, somatic and emotional release, the resurfacing and processing of difficult past experiences, and even visions and encounters with spirit guides. Each journey is a distinct and unique experience.
Surrender your expectations to your highest and best purpose. Allow yourself to be surprised. Remember that you control your breath in the ceremony. You go as deep as you desire. You journey to the darkest pits and the brightest realms. I'm with you at every breath.
