HOLD
Certified facilitators create the space for your shamanic journey and offer somatic support to discover your power to heal past injuries, release and transform stagnant emotions, and experience a deeper level of self love. People experience everything from stillness, euphoria, visions of past lives, and meeting animal guides to tears of surrender and vocal release. A SBW session lasts about 3 hours start to finish - we begin to gather and set intentions, journey to music, create a visual expression, and share our impressions.
SBW can be an intense experience. It is not unusual to stir up old wounds and trauma feelings. Group processing is an important part included in every session. Once the journey is over and you go home, expect it will take some work on your own to integrate and understand your experience. Give it some time. Within a week of the event, the facilitators will hold a Zoom call to come back together and process again as a group.

GW Draft:
What is Shamanic Breathwork®?
Shamanic Breathwork (SBW) is a ceremonial setting for self exploration and deep psycho-spiritual healing. It is a modern method which is deeply rooted in the ancient spiritual traditions of the world. It functions as the rainbow bridge between the worlds - old and new, physical and imaginal - forging a path for mind, body, spirit, and soul. As the name suggests, the practice revolves around breath. Participants use deep cyclical breathing to access an non-ordinary state of consciousness in which it is possible to peel back layers of the self and journey to explore the inner realms, heal and transform old wounds, and begin to unravel dysfunctional patterns.
What happens during ceremony?
In the world of Shamanic Breathwork we say “breathe until you are surprised”. No two journeys are ever alike and the unknown is what we seek. Attempts at conveying the concept pedagogically will usually miss the mark- the highly experiential nature of SBW means that the only way to begin to understand it is to experience it for yourself. The structure, however, remains constant. Ceremony is guided by one or more certified and trained facilitators and lasts about 1-1.5 hrs. We begin with introductions and sharing circle, where anyone who wishes can give a voice to their intentions for the ceremony, their reasons for being there, etc; then the facilitator will briefly explain the very simple breathing technique. Next, everyone will find their spot to lay down and ceremony begins with establishing a sacred container for the experience. The facilitator will then instruct the journeyers to begin the prescribed breath and guide lead them up to the beginning of their journeys. At this point the soundtrack will kick in and each person is off on their own experience. For the remainder of the journey the facilitator(s) will walk the floor and attend to everyone as needed. This often involves body/energetic work, emotional support, or simply bearing witness to the experience. No one is alone during ceremony.
What can I expect to happen?
-Expect nothing. Every experience is unique
-Surrender
-Things may come up that you might want to follow up on. See follow up councelling
During ceremony, utilizing circular rhythmic breathing and a carefully curated musical soundtrack under the guidance of trained and experienced facilitators. As old wounds and dysfunctional patterns are released and transformed, individuals begin to regain lost soul parts and remember the magic of who they truly are. Empowerment brings wholeness and healing back into their own lives, to the lives of those they love, and to the world at large.
This SBW process is highly experiential and the wisdom and healing gained comes from each individual’s inner experience. Shamanic Breathwork honors and blends the timeless wisdom of ancient traditions with the emerging new paradigm methods of healing and teaching. It functions as the rainbow bridge between these two worlds honoring the best of both worlds while creating a bridge for body, mind, heart, soul and spirit.
While honoring the ancient shamanic lineages, Shamanic Breathwork focusses on Awakening the Shaman Within. There is ample support from Shamanic Breathwork Facilitators and co-journeyers to assist during the session to enable a safe journey for the participant.
The SBW ceremony begins by establishing safe and sacred space through various rituals and ceremonies such as smudging with sage, cedar, and sweet grass while offering prayerful invocations. Individuals lie down and focus on surrendering to their Shaman Within, calling upon that which is most sacred and holy to them, such as spirit guides, power animals, and higher powers. As the drumming begins, journeyers are invited to connect with rhythmic breathing and a chakra-attuned musical journey varying in length typically from one to two hours. As the individual uses the power of deep connected breathing to create a natural altered dreamlike state, the Ego defenses are released and the journey unfolds in a variety of magical ways.
The most powerful healing tool our SBW Facilitators bring to the person breathing is their open, loving hearts and minds, with a willingness to support and travel with the journeyer wherever they may need to go. This is the essence of what Shamanic Breathwork is all about. Describing the process really does not do it justice. One must experience this powerful shamanic journey and its transformation directly.
